Come by for our Zen Shiatsu Free Talk and Demonstration Open Evening on Wednesday 28th March at the Zen School. Then we have an Intensive Immersion Training Beginners Basic Friday thru Monday 30th March to 2nd April. Of course you don’t have to wait – the weekly training starts every Tuesday evening and Thursday afternoon, or monthly on the 3rd Saturday of the month (next is 17th March.) Or come join us at the Vitality Show – March 22-25.

PROFESSIONAL TRAINING > PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION Here at the Zen School of Shiatsu we offer you three levels of training, from Absolute Beginner right through to qualified Practitioner:

Basic Shiatsu
8 modules learning the ropes of how to give a good shiatsu treatment, leading to your Certificate in Practical Shiatsu, CPS, which gives Junior Practitioner Membership of the Zen Shiatsu Society and entitles you to insurance coverage for treating non-medical conditions

Intermediate Shiatsu
43 modules getting to grips with the theory behind the therapy and applying it in a series of learning-treatments, leading to your Intermediate Certificate and admission to the Intermediate-Practitioner Register of the Zen Shiatsu Society.

Advanced Shiatsu
64 modules putting it all together, developing your heart connection, putting your compassion into practice, learning how to make your living doing what you love, leading to your Diploma Advanced Shiatsu accredited by Middlesex University, your Licence to Practise from the Zen Shiatsu Society. and eligibility for membership of the Practitioner register of the Complementary and natural Healthcare Council

How to prepare yourself and client for treatment and the effects of treatment
The Seven Principles of Zen Shiatsu

What conditions to avoid (contra-indications)
and how to deliver mindful shiatsu with compassion, care and competence in the Four Positions for treatment: Prone, Supine, Side, and Seated, utilising Shiatsu techniques: Palm, thumb and finger pressure; Stretch and compression; Tonification and sedation…
